Social Inclusion Through Social Prescribing (SITS Rx) Our Journey So Far

We invite you to join us to learn from the experiences of Seniors Active Living Centres (SALCS) that have participated in this exciting project led by the Ontario Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO) and funded by the federal government’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Launched in November, 2020 and, despite restrictions resulting from provincial closures, participating SALCS have persisted with their commitment to social prescribing and have made great headway. During this session, a panel of SALC leaders will tell us about their social prescribing journey so far, including outreach strategies, volunteer training, successes and challenges. You will have an opportunity to ask questions of panel members. In addition, we will share tips drawn from all the participating centres.

The session will wrap up with a look to the future – what’s next in social prescribing for the SALCs and OACAO members and how your centre can become involved.
