Volunteer Management - Evolving with the Times
Speaker: Nikkie Snagg, Volunteer and Membership Coordinator, The Good Companions Centre
Volunteer Management refers to the process of working with volunteers to achieve an organization's objectives; it covers recruitment, screening, engagement, orientation, training, recognition and the evaluation of volunteers. The volunteer trends are changing in Senior Active Living Centres, as Baby Boomers enter retirement and want to give back to their communities. Boomer volunteers have different interests than the traditional volunteers as they look for opportunities that provide them with flexibility, i.e. episodic volunteering, snowbirds.
The workshop will include time to share and showcase your volunteer program and what works well at your centre.
Registration starts at 9:30am. There will be coffee and tea available when you arrive. A light lunch will be provided. There is free parking.
OACAO Members and/or SALC funded organizations only!
