Recruiting Volunteers with Purpose

Recruiting a volunteer may be the critical first step in the volunteer engagement cycle, but without purpose and planning, and without the key support around this process, non-profit organizations find themselves stuck at recruitment and not moving beyond. In this session, Volunteer MBC will explain ways to recruit better and to ensure that the organization and the new volunteer both have a deep sense of purpose that makes it a win-win.

Shan Abbasi is an experienced developer of community programs with considerable experience as an instructor, facilitator, and coordinator. Shan is passionate about creative ways to bring systemic change. With over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector and as a lifelong volunteer, he is experienced in understanding the volunteer journey and emphasizes the idea that volunteering is for everyone. He is the Director of Community Development for Volunteer MBC, a charity that supports other non-profits with their volunteer engagement.
